BASe Airlines Ltd won the air services tender for Pori–Helsinki route
Finnish Transport and Communications Agency Traficom and the city of Pori have reached a decision in the tender for scheduled air services between the airports of Helsinki and Pori. BASe Airlines Ltd won the tender for the route. Flights are set to begin 01 January 2025.
Scheduled air services were invited to tender between the airports of Helsinki and Pori for the time period between 1 January 2025 and 27 March 2027.
Tenders were received from two airlines: BASe Airlines Ltd and NyxAir OÜ. The contracts were awarded based on the comparison of price between all tenderers that met the requirements set in the invitation to tender.
“We are happy to conclude this process and that transport can continue without interruptions. Cooperation with the state and Traficom has been smooth and very important to us,” says the mayor of Pori, Lauri Inna.
All air carriers that are established in the European Union and meet the minimum criteria of the procedure could submit a tender by 1 July 2024.
“We have made the procurement decision and will start the contract negotiations with BASe Airlines Ltd in August. We hope to conclude the negotiations as soon as possible so that the operation of flights can begin as planned on 1 January 2025,” says Director Pipsa Eklund from Traficom.
The total value of the procurement is 6.7 million euros (+VAT). The state has commited to pay a total of 1.6 million euros for Pori flights in 2025. More detailed information on the procurement can be found in the procurement decision.
